Why is the 'uninstall' option not available for some plug-ins?
Broadly speaking, there are 3 types of plug-ins that can be used with ContactsLaw:
- Official plug-ins (shipped with ContactsLaw or otherwise included with your firm's distribution)
- Third-party plug-ins, installed separately
- Third-party plug-ins, installed/managed via ContactsLaw
Official plug-ins cannot be uninstalled because they are distributed with ContactsLaw; each time a new version is installed, these plug-ins are updated automatically and therefore they would be replaced each time.
Third-party plug-ins which are installed separately provide their own installer, which can also be used to remove the plug-in. You must exit ContactsLaw before uninstalling such plug-ins.
Third-party plug-ins which are installed/managed by ContactsLaw offer an 'uninstall' option within the application. You must restart ContactsLaw in order for the changes to take effect.
Plug-ins which cannot be removed can still be disabled by unchecking the box beside the name of the plug-in.
